gratitude list.
Maybe this is the cheesiest thing you’ll ever read in your life, but I wrote this down while Hurricane Sandy raged outside, and my roommates and I bonded in our dark, cramped living room. And I just have to share it.
Thank you Sandy for allowing us to have our first house meal together.
Thank you for letting us roast marshmallows over a candle.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity share our own poetry and music with each other.
Thank you for making me feel like a responsible adult.
Thank you for not killing us.
Thank you for not taking away our home.
Thank you for showing me how difficult is actually is to read and write by candlelight.
Thank you for taking away our soul-sucking social media away for a little while.
Thank you for giving me a few days off from work, to recover from my cold and get little tasks done.
Thank you for allowing me to concoct a delicious pasta dish, completely in the dark.
Thank you for giving me more insight into the minds of my housemates.
Thank you for letting me rest & recharge.
Thank you for giving me a newfound appreciation for the usual routines in my life.
