i’ve been looking for a while for a great vintage military/band-style jacket. I feel like a piece like this would add a touch sophistication to any outfit.

also something i’ve been on the lookout for since high school: a faux leopard print coat, full-length. i KNOW i would only be able to find these either at vintage/thrift stores or ebay, perhaps. Speaking of, it might be time to pay GoodWill a visit. I haven’t been there since last January, when i was on my t-shirt reconstructing kick.

i wish there was an arts and crafts club on campus. i have my own project in the making here at home.

SO GAME PLAN TIME:

stop feeling worthless and smile at the fact that you scored two free cookies today from the Subway guy who is clearly in love with you.

Even the two free cookies I was given at subway, out of the kindness of some stranger's heart, couldn't help me shake my feelings of worthlessness.

Today wasn’t a bad day. Tonight was a bad night.

when i find myself in times of trouble...

i put on my halloween costume and dance around my bedroom.

David Lee Roth and Madonna, 1985

Look at how fucking adorable Madonna was. Out of all the different phases in her career, her first one was the best.

it's official

I dropped Modern Greek 1 to take Journalism 11. I checked the available course listings on a whim last night, and when I saw that it was available, i jumped at it. So, i’m saddened that I will wait probably another semester until i am able to learn the mystical language of my ancestors, but I’m happy that I get a break from the Language Lab.

I love the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Out of the many beloved movies that John Hughes directed, FBDO is my favorite by a long shot. Interestingly enough, I have never watched it in its entirety in one sitting. I came close once this past year, but i had just missed the beginning credits. There’s something to strive for this upcoming year.

The last time i watched it, I had just shared with my roommates the striking coincidences between Fight Club and Frankenstein (i <3 english lit). While we were watching FBDO, one of my roommates said, “I read somewhere that FBDO is a lot like Fight Club, where Ferris is really acting on his friend Cameron’s repressed desires.” And so I now have two goals for next time I watch the movie.
