Hello friends. It has recently come to my attention (during my last trip to the grocery store) that Hershey’s has come out with their own version of the Nestle’s Aero bar. And I have to say, I was flabbergasted. The Aero chocolate bar was originally a UK-only product, but it has slowly become a cult favorite over in the States, sold mostly in specialty candy shops or in the foreign food aisle at supermarkets.
I had my first one at age eleven. I’ve been the biggest fan ever since.
And then along comes Hershey, years later, debuting a very similar product. I was amazed at their audacity but I had to try it out for myself anyway.

Overall, it was better than I expected. The chocolate tasted distinctly like Hershey’s Chocolate, not very creamy with an instant mouth-drying effect. It was a Hershey’s bar with more dimension. Slightly more satisfying than a normal one, even though some of its width was subtracted. The bubbles were too small to be that noticeable. Seems more gimmicky than eccentric.

Of course, I had to get an original Aero bar too. The mint was a perfect compliment for this chocolate bar. The bubbles are bigger and more noticeable, and you really want to slow down and enjoy the experience. They are thicker than the Hershey’s version, and have seven pieces as opposed to Hershey’s six.
So if you are looking for a symphony in your mouth, instead of a mere snack, and you’re willing to pony up the extra $.30, do the right thing and opt for Nestle’s Aero.
