In 2010, I will try to...

  • think before making purchases
  • learn to cook
  • not rely on spell check
  • not overeat
  • not give out my phone number
  • make an effort to get to know people
  • go on more lunch dates with friends
  • take more pictures
  • have an arsenal of healthy snacks on me at all times. (so i don’t eat cupcakes everyday like I did at the end of last semester.)
  • budget my meal plan.

  • get a job at the ice cream shop in Durham
  • be more gas-conscious
  • read more for pleasure

  • and most importantly, go to more YARD SALES.

Happy 50th birthday, dad!

To celebrate, I reconstructed this pair of blue jeans. I should’ve taken a before picture, but they were normal jeans with a huge unflattering flare leg. I turned them into skinny jeans.

Vacation brings out the craftiness in me, I think.

This one was a little bit harder. It was a glorious 80’s-tastic dress, with shoulder pads and a delightful vacation-themed print. It was $3 at Goodwill. I originally wanted to turn this into a romper, but I figured that a skirt would be more wearable. I cut the top part of the dress off, sewed the elastic waistband underneath, then hemmed the bottom. It was pretty simple, except the dress had a weird wrap element to it that I ended up sewing and hemming with the rest of the dress.

And sorry for the poor quality photos. Photobooth is the best I can do at the moment!

Oh heyy! Today was a miserable rainy day, so I stayed in and did arts and crafts! I reconstructed a long skirt and a dress into two mini skirts. Here is the first one I finished. I bought it from Goodwill, and it fit perfectly around the waist, but it was too long. I hemmed it a bit shorter than I would’ve liked, but it’s still perfectly wearable.

December I was so excited to come home after that soul-crushing last two weeks that I forgot to take pictures. Oops.

November I cut my hair off. So far, It has been much more successful than the last time I did something drastic with it.

October I went to UCONN for Halloween. I was Max from Where the Wild Things Are, and CJ…wore a Bud Light shirt.

(if you haven’t already noticed, the arm-over-the-shoulder is our go-to pose in pictures.)

July I went to a family reunion in North Carolina.

June we had a marathon of epic parties at Katelyn’s house when her mom went to France for two weeks.

May I turned 19. I celebrated by spending it with my boyfriend.

April we saw Bret and Jemaine in person. It was beautiful.

March was Gen’s birthday! We went to Max Brenner’s in Manhattan and feasted.
